Travelers looking at Wyoming’s Jackson Hole Resorts as a vacation option should also seriously consider Teton Springs Lodge & Spa, Jackson’s neighbor 20 minutes to the west. Visitors to Teton Springs Resort can sometimes appear almost smug that they discovered this precious gem in nearby eastern Idaho. Teton Springs Resort is located in the most awe-inspiring hamlet in all of Idaho. Surrounded by the majestic Teton and Big Hole Mountains, this year-round resort in Victor, Idaho, has raised the bar for accommodation options in the Teton Mountains and among Jackson Hole cabin rentals. This luxury community truly offers the best of all worlds – an extraordinary combination of upscale amenities and recreational options unmatched in any resort community.
Jackson Hole Resorts are known for their individual amenities but guests looking at Teton Springs appreciate the option to simply step outside their lodge door and find themselves hiking, biking, swimming, fishing, and golfing literally within minutes. Some of the areas’ best hiking trails are in the surrounding Caribou-Targhee National Forest, a popular draw for beginners but also has plenty of options for those looking for more rugged terrain to conquer. Wildlife abounds in this special patch of wilderness. Another “locals” favorite is the trek up Darby Canyon to the Wind Caves. This is a moderate hike but does get a tad step at the very top as one approaches the caves. It’s always fun to take a headlamp so you can maneuver inside these huge rock piles. This is also a favorite outing for the Jackson Hole resort guests. No spelunking necessary but dry socks may be!
Teton Springs Offers Something Different from most Jackson Hole Resorts
Teton Springs Resort’s location in Teton Valley also affords it some of the country’s most spectacular natural landscape in the Rockies. The Grand Tetons loom large from the Idaho side and provide an entirely different perspective of the majestic peaks than one would see from neighboring Jackson Hole resorts. Take the short drive through Teton Valley to Grand Targhee Resort, in Alta, Wyoming, and ride the summer scenic chairlift which climbs over 2,000 feet from their base area. From the Teton viewing area you’ll take in not just the majestic peaks but also their three neighboring states and all the way into Yellowstone National Park. Watch for their resident moose on the ride down!
