While snow sliders are thrilled with the amount of white stuff still filling in every nook and cranny on the area slopes in and around Teton valley, there’s definitely excitement brewing for another reason. The women, who will soon give up sliding on white, only to wear it in a few short months, can see nothing but visions of Eagles soaring overhead, crystal clear lakes and ponds, and lush, green grass at the Caddis Lake Overlook, and other prime locations sites at Teton Springs. Yes, wedding season is undoubtedly heating up once again at Teton Springs Resort, one of the region’s most popular wedding destinations.
It’s not difficult to understand why this Yellowstone-Teton property plays host to more than its fair share of couples saying “I Do.” It’s almost as if this 780 plus acre resort community was built with weddings in mind. To start with, one could easily argue that Teton Springs may very well be one of the most romantic places for a couple to walk down the aisle, with soft green grass beneath their feet and nothing but purple-blue skies and mountain peaks on the horizon. Here you’re surrounded by the majestic Teton and Big Hole Mountains; the backdrop is awe inspiring, almost to the point of distraction.
A family reunion is often the sweet byproduct of a wedding celebration and the lodging at Teton Springs is optimum for accommodating a destination affair. Husband and wife to be, with family & friends in tow, can all be together under one roof if they choose the boutique Teton Springs Lodge. Wedding guests often take over the entire 51 room hotel, especially the suites, equipped with a full kitchen and spacious living area. There are one and two bedroom suites and a family of six is easily and comfortably accommodated in the two bedroom model.
As nice as the lodge accommodations are, the Mountain Log Homes at Teton Springs are often the first choice for wedding goers, and these “cabins” are nothing short of grand. Though they are often referred to as cabins, in the case of these particular homes, it’s best to remove all pre-conceived notions of the typical log cabin in the woods. Each and every one of these homes are stunning, with many bordering the Headwaters Golf Course and the Caribou-Targhee National Forest.
Families, or buddies coming in for the event have a lot of options here; there’s three, four and five bedroom beautiful log cabins, and each has been custom designed and filled with large, overstuffed, western themed furniture and other goodies (many equipped with pool tables, elaborate sound systems, huge T.V.’s etc.). Naturally during the summer months, the large decks overlooking the golf course easily morph into the perfect gathering spots for family and friends.
Of all the amenities one will find at Teton Springs, when it comes to weddings, the home run has to be the Stillwaters Spa & Salon.
Located in the lodge, this full service facility has a leg up on any of the region’s competitors. The staff at this full service oasis has made it a point to specialize in all things wedding related. It begins with the entire staff; Jill, Julie, Karen, and Nicole, and when it comes to catering to the bride and her entourage, Nicole is a shining star. Armed with over 25 years of experience in cutting and styling techniques, Nicole has made it her avocation to be the stylist for countless brides and her attendants, and last but certainly not least, the mother of the bride and groom.
Nicole has apprenticed under the best in the business, in particular Aveda Corporation, and later with stylist-to-the-stars Ted Gibson himself, who moved on from Aveda and started his own chain of salons. Gibson not only treats the major celebrities of our era, but can legitimately claim that status himself as a magazine, runway and celebrity hair stylist. Gibson’s famous client list includes the who’s-who of celebs, including Angeline Jolie, Ann Hathaway, Demi Moore, Diane Sawyer and other famous individuals worthy of our attention. Nicole recently attended the Ted Gibson Advanced Academy seminar in Florida to work with Gibson’s top protégé and stylist, Devin Toth.
Through her extensive study and success with these industry giants, Nicole became a trainer herself, and now shares her expertise with the Stillwaters staff. With this team, all clients are offered a high level of treatment in the art of cutting-edge hair cutting & color techniques, make up, skin care, and aromatherapy. The manicure & pedicure station at the salon was also recently remodeled to accommodate high demand. It’s no wonder that the Stillwaters Spa &n Salon is quickly gaining recognition as the hot spot of beauty in this region, where clients appreciate the down-to-earth peaceful vibe, a place where inspiration and creativity flourish.
Food is also a focal point for any wedding celebration and Teton Springs more than has this covered. Resident Chef Rick Sordahl is somewhat of a celebrity himself, and his culinary accomplishments particularly shine when it comes to catering a special event, both smaller, more intimate affairs, all the way to big-top tent wedding receptions. Rick recently opened the Range at Teton Springs and the reviews couldn’t be more stellar.
The party doesn’t end there – after the ceremony, bride and groom and their wedding guests scatter for a real vacation in the Yellowstone-Teton country, or you never really have to leave the confines of resort gates, with swimming, tennis, fly fishing, golf, hiking and biking all there for the taking. Call the nice folks at the lodge; they’ll help you with all wedding plans and/or your next one-of-a-kind unforgettable world-class vacation.
Ah, love is indeed in the air at Teton Springs, and so much more!
